"Changes To My Study Program"
Wow... and in the blink of an eye, this is our last blog... and what a topic I must write about >:)
I am lucky to
study the career that I love, however not everything is rosy and it is
important to talk about it.
For those who
don't know, I study Engineering at Sondio, and I have nothing bad to say about
the curricular framework of my degree. I think I would change one Learning Unit
or another but it would only be due to my personal taste.
I also think
that the duration of the degree is fair (although the average duration is 8
years), 5 years are enough to learn what is necessary to be a great sound
engineer.
I think that
the big problems that arise in the degree, especially in sound, are thanks to
the infrastructure and management that the deanery has. Slow decisions, little
communication between teachers and until recently an infrastructure that put
the lives of students at risk!!! This has been the reason for the multiple
strikes that have occurred this year and especially in the second half of the
year.
I am in favor
of a change of location, I believe it is essential for the best development of
all students who are in this faculty. What this change of headquarters means
for me would be:
- Green areas.
- Better classrooms.
- Greater availability of materials.
- Improved communication between teachers
and transparency with students.
Regarding the
last point, it's not that I have anything against teachers, not at all, in
fact, I have immense love and respect for many of them. Their methodologies are
spectacular, with obviously exceptional cases, but for the most part they are
great teachers, with great curricular support that guarantees them the exercise
of their profession.
Regarding the
use of technology, I think that for a career with so much use of electrical
devices, I feel that the computer room that the faculty has is very
precarious... It is not that what they have is bad, but that it is insufficient
for everyone and its use is restricted only to when there are classes, which
greatly limits the development and application of what has been learned during
extracurricular hours (time-outs for example). For my part, I would invest in
more equipment, which is obviously treated with the respective care, but which
is available to students for the creation of their projects or solely for
learning purposes.
It has been a pretty crazy year, and the first of many, but I am 100% proud of regardless of the University's adversities, each of us has achieved. It is extremely entertaining to read your blogs, experiences, and realize that although we almost never speak in person, we are not very different, and that makes us a unique community as "Artes Centro"... so with these words, and although have to pay "Una Luca"...
Adiós!!!
